What Malaysians really think of China | Street Interviews
We went out on the streets of Malaysia to ask random people what their views of China were. We talked to people from Mainly Malaysia but also Liberia， Pakistan and Taiwan to get their candid responses， and were quite surprised at what we found.
As a Malaysian， I can tell you that we have a very positive view about China. We benefit from their economy growth in our region which help to pull up ours as well.
Was there any else who just give you good and never with a string attached？Wow， that must be better than the God， just simply leave the worst China and go be with the God.
@BA BC It‘s called win win mate， if you all stop hating that country so bad maybe you could get some of that too lmao
I‘m Malaysian， and here’s my thought on China：- I like most of the Chinese people from China， they‘re so damn hardworking no matter how you portrayed them （I mean few times hardworking than us Malaysians）. Of course there are some people who are lazy， cuz their families are already rich before they came to Malaysia.- People from China don’t like to waste time， which is a good example for Malaysians to learn.- Most of our construction industries， manufacturing industries are getting better because of the machinery/equipments/transportation we import from China. Yes， we rely on their machinery a lot.- China is our largest trading partner for years， there‘s no doubt most of the things we used came from China， I’m grateful.- Chinese people from China， they got better purchase power compared to us， Malaysians.
China has brought more benefits to our economy， that‘s the main point.
Let‘s hope for the best of china， since Malaysia is trying to become better in terms of development and economy， without US hegemony
the thing about china is they never interfere local governing policy
I am Malaysian. What do I think about China？ 1. thank goodness for their reasonably priced machinery and equipment. It is an SME enabler for many developing countries. I can get a poultry processing line from China at a third of the price if from Europe. Ditto for excavators， cranes， etc. China plays a tremendous role as an economic enabler and multiplier because of its cheap goods， and innovative solutions. They don‘t price their goods like purely capitalist companies would. 2. thank goodness for their growing middle class， which with its huge purchasing power means that businesses that know how to sell value-added goods to them will earn more income. Example， durians， tiger prawns， high-end timber furniture， etc. 3. China have had centuries of trade relationship with the various Malay kingdoms without any wars. Malacca was thriving as a center of trade between China， India， and the various sultanates of the Nusantara and the Middle East. Then the Europeans came and destroyed Malacca and subjugated the local kingdoms and people and expropriate all the natural resources to Europe. The approach to other countries and other civilizations between China and the West are diametrically opposite.

You should have asked the Malays and the Malaysian Chinese for their views. Anyway， as a Chinese Singaporean who has both friends and relatives on both sides， we are staunchly supportive of China， esp those well read on world matters.
Afterall， we too have familial ties with Guandong peoplesince our grandpas landed in Malaysia and Singapore from the chaotic Opium Wars waged on the poor Chinese people by the UK， U$， France and the 8-nation Alliance which today is the G7 mostly.
Wow！ I am Malaysian too. I have a quite positive view of China.
Malaysians generally love China！ You just interviewed those who are weak in spoken English and they can’t express it properly.
as a Chinese， I want to say thank you very much to the Malaysia people， i think what we hope is a good life full of hope. All of us want a development ， and i hope everyone can make it true. wish everybody can enjoy a peaceful and happy life.

I‘m one of those fortunate Msians who had had d chance to live in China for many yrs. So， I was able to make comparison with claims made by d main stream media（msm） & d actual situation on d ground. Many a time， d allegations by msm were wide by a mile. I had enjoyed my stay in China， charmed by her warm， kind & honest people & its peaceful & safe environment. I cd feel d concern of d govt for its citizens & doing all they to alleviate their std of living.

Welcome to Malaysia！ I am also Malaysian， and I am viewing china as a positive influence. Many of the negative news are very one sided and exaggerated from western media. I am looking forward to see china grow bigger and neutralize the control from western.
I‘m a Singaporean. Me and many of my fellow Singaporeans have full respect for China and its people.
Barrett ， as a native Chinese Malaysian who speak Chinese & English & Malay & other Chinese dialect well also as a Malaysian who study both China and USA deep using their own language ，i proudly give you my comment， i think that China have a positive influence on the world by showing how can the world live in another way of living beside then the USA way of living， China and USA are totally different in almost everything example the way of this 2 country to become world leader， USA use war and economic sanction to force other people to follow her while China use trade to make other people follow her.
Welcome to Malaysia. Generally Malaysia works closely with China esp in trade， and we benefit from each others. We hope the bilateral relationship maintain and we want world peace.
Malaysians love China
Definitely positive about China！ The taxi driver is a Malaysian Indian and he is very much influenced by the tensions between India and China， probably the 1962 and recent 2020 skirmish.
I am a Chinese American working in a university. I have met some Chinese Malaysian students. They all can speak fluent Chinese and are proud of their Chinese origin. This remains to be a wonder to me how the Chinese communities in Malaysia maintain the Chinese tradition and the love for the motherland. This is a unique phenomenon. I wonder whether the practices in Malaysia can be replicated in other countries that also have large Chinese populations， like the Philippines， Thailand， Vietnam， Japan， Australia， and the US.
Being a Malaysian， I had been deeply influenced or rather brainwashed by western Media during my school days .When I grown up ， my perception towards China has been swift from negative to positive.China no doubt is a great and a peace loving country .I will always support China .
